Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General and Busia County Woman Representative Hon. Catherine Omanyo has fired up party supporters with a fiery new mobilisation slogan: “Hatuwezi kuwa bila power” – We cannot be without power.
In a post shared on X Thursday evening, Omanyo unveiled a striking orange campaign T-shirt design featuring the slogan boldly printed as “Hatuwezi kuwa bila Pawa” – a deliberate phonetic spelling reflecting everyday Kenyan pronunciation.
The eye-catching garment shows a beaming Omanyo in vibrant orange attire and headwrap, flashing the peace sign, with official ODM logos prominently displayed on the chest and sleeve.
The simple yet powerful caption “Hatuwezi kuwa bila power” has already attracted thousands of views and lively debate within hours.
Supporters hailed it as a timely rallying cry for ODM’s renewed push to reclaim national leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The launch comes amid the party’s ongoing “Linda Mwananchi” tours led by Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and other leaders across Western and Nyanza regions.
Analysts see the slogan as a direct assertion of ODM’s determination to regain political power after recent setbacks.
However, the post triggered mixed reactions. Some critics mocked the pronunciation style and questioned why Raila Odinga’s portrait was missing from the design.
Others dismissed it as “clout-chasing” or erratic messaging, with one user urging the party to “go back to factory settings of Tuko Tayari.”
Despite the online chatter, Omanyo’s intervention underscores ODM’s aggressive grassroots strategy to consolidate its Western Kenya base as political temperatures continue to rise.
