Sifuna made the appeal during a radio interview on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, as he sought to encourage ordinary Kenyans to support the movement regardless of the amount they can afford.
The senator said even small contributions could help sustain Linda Mwananchi activities, urging supporters to send whatever they could manage.
He provided the Paybill number 3033049 and asked contributors to identify the recipient as E. Sifuna when making their payments.
Sifuna also expressed his appreciation to Kenyans who had already contributed towards the movement, saying the financial support had played an important role in helping leaders organise and facilitate various activities.
According to the senator, money raised through the contributions has been used to support different aspects of Linda Mwananchi events. This includes facilitating entertainment during rallies and helping families affected by incidents linked to political gatherings.
Sifuna said the funds have also been used to support families of individuals who were allegedly killed or injured during disruptions of some of the movement's public events.
The senator further promised that the money collected would be managed transparently. He assured supporters that they would be informed about how the funds had been spent, in an effort to maintain accountability and confidence among those contributing to the initiative.
The fundraising drive comes at a time when Sifuna's political profile has continued to grow, with some leaders openly advocating for him to consider running for president in the 2027 General Election.
Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has been among the leaders pushing for greater financial support for Sifuna's political ambitions.
Speaking during a podcast in Kakamega County on Sunday, July 19, Malala proposed an ambitious Ksh3 billion fundraising campaign aimed at supporting Sifuna's presidential bid.
Malala said Western Kenya residents who wanted to see one of their own pursue the country's highest political office should be prepared to contribute towards the campaign.
He proposed that the fundraising initiative begin at Bukhungu Stadium, where supporters would contribute food and other items to cater for guests attending the event.
The former senator further suggested that organisers set up a large tent with space for 3,000 people. He proposed that each attendee contribute Ksh1 million, a move he said could generate Ksh3 billion to kick-start Sifuna's presidential campaign.
Malala argued that the initiative could later be replicated in other parts of the country where the "Sisi ni Sifuna" movement has gained support.
He also called for young people who support Sifuna to be given an opportunity to contribute smaller amounts through a dedicated Paybill number. According to Malala, even a contribution of Ksh100 from each supporter could help build a strong campaign financing base.
His proposal came shortly after Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya also suggested that supporters establish a fundraising mechanism to finance Sifuna's political ambitions.
Natembeya argued that Sifuna's supporters should take advantage of available opportunities to raise money for the campaign. He even suggested that some funds distributed by politicians allied to the government could be accepted, with a portion redirected towards supporting Sifuna's political activities.
Meanwhile, a section of Western Kenya political leaders appears to be increasingly supportive of Sifuna's ambitions. Some politicians and aspirants involved in preparations for his expected homecoming have reportedly pledged to contribute resources towards his political journey.
Calls for a Paybill to support the senator have also been heard at political and social gatherings. During the burial of a relative of Bumula MP Jack Wamboka, mourners reportedly chanted "Leta Paybill", signalling growing interest in organised fundraising efforts.
The latest developments suggest that financial mobilisation could become a key feature of Sifuna's political activities as he continues to build his national profile.
However, the senator's decision to officially unveil a Paybill for Linda Mwananchi activities marks a significant step towards creating a structured funding mechanism for the movement.
How much support the initiative attracts from ordinary Kenyans could determine its ability to sustain rallies, mobilisation activities and other programmes in the coming months.
