Edwin Sifuna Reacts Hours After MP Clive Ombane Surviving a Grisly Accident With This Message

September 30, 2026
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has expressed relief after Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Ombane Gisairo survived a road accident along the Nairobi-Kisii route on Monday night, September 28, 2026.

Gisairo was reportedly travelling from his constituency in Nyamira County to Nairobi when his vehicle was hit from behind by a speeding Isuzu D-Max in the Kikuyu area of Kiambu County.

The pickup, registration number KDX 961T, is registered to Isuzu Kenya and leased to the Ministry of Interior. The impact reportedly caused Gisairo’s vehicle to lose control and roll onto the road shoulder.

His driver, however, managed to bring the vehicle to a stop despite the rear right tyre being damaged.

Gisairo and his driver escaped with minor injuries, reportedly sustaining muscle pulls following the impact.

They also assisted the two occupants of the other vehicle, who were later taken away in a government vehicle before traffic officers completed the standard procedures at the scene.

The MP has since reported the incident to the relevant authorities as investigations continue. The Ministry of Interior has also indicated that it has identified the individuals involved in the incident.

Reacting to Gisairo’s account on Tuesday, Sifuna quoted the MP’s statement on X and thanked God for his safety.

“Omwami God is good. Happy that you are safe,” Sifuna said.

Gisairo later thanked Kenyans and his supporters for their messages of concern, assuring them that he and his driver were safe.

The Kitutu Masaba MP also used the moment to call for unity, urging Kenyans to work together in building the country.

“Sasa tujenge taifa pamoja,” Gisairo said.

Authorities are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the events involving the Interior Ministry-linked vehicle and its occupants.
