ODM MP Peter Kaluma Reacts as Rigathi Alleges Why Kalonzo Will not Ditch the Opposition

Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for saying Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka can't ditch the opposition.

Gachagua who was speaking during an interview on January 12, 2026, stated that Kalonzo won't leave a man with 6-7 million votes like President William Ruto, implying Kalonzo is not that foolish.

"I don't think Kalonzo will be foolish to leave a man with 6, 7 million votes like President William Ruto. The President who had solid votes in Mount Kenya left in search of a million votes in Luo Nyanza. I don't think Kalonzo Musyoka is that daft," Rigathi Gachagua said.

Several politicians took to social media, accusing him of belittling the former Vice President.

Kaluma alleged Gachagua's impeachment might have affected his mental stability and called for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's expulsion from ODM, saying nothing will change if Sifuna leaves.
